Privacy policy
Emma the Enhancer ("Emma") is run by Rocky Fischer. This page explains what Emma does with your information. Last updated October 20, 2026.
What Emma receives
- Your access key. Emma stores only a one-way fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) of it, never the key itself.
- What you type or upload (ideas, prompts, answers to combine, files, links) and what Emma writes back.
- Usage counts per access key: how many prompts were used, when, and any limit or end date.
Who processes it
- Anthropic (Claude) writes Emma's prompts and long documents.
- OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Google (Gemini) receive a prompt only when you choose Compare in 3 models.
- Vercel hosts Emma, and Upstash stores usage counts.
These providers process the text to produce a result. Emma uses paid API access, under terms in which those providers do not use your content to train their models.
What Emma keeps
- Emma does not keep your ideas, files or results on its servers. They pass through to produce your result.
- Your Recent list and last document are saved only in your own browser, and you can clear them at any time.
- Server logs record events such as which feature was used, timings and token counts, not your content.
Google Docs export
If you choose Download as Google Docs, Emma asks Google for permission to create files in your Google Drive (the drive.file scope). With it, Emma can only create the document you asked for and see files it created; it cannot read your other files. Emma uses that permission once to create the document and does not store it. Your document waits on Emma's server for up to 15 minutes while you sign in to Google, then it is deleted. Emma's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sharing
Emma does not sell your information or share it with anyone other than the providers above.
